The Thai boxer Simone Aslan from the Heilbronner Thaibulls became Junior World Champion in October 2021. The 15-year-old girl had won the title in a fight according to the so-called K1 rules in Mauchenheim in Rhineland-Palatinate (Alzey-Worms district). Participation in the Junior World Championship is their most important competition so far.
In front of almost 600 spectators, including her entire training team, the 15-year-old won the junior world champion title at the gala. The way to the title demanded a lot of discipline and hard training from her: “I usually go to training four to five times a week for one and a half hours, and when preparing for a competition I even do six training units a week,” explains Simone, “also I pay close attention to my diet, especially during the competition phases.”
In the meantime, there are no major competitions on the program for now, because Simone wants to concentrate not only on Thai boxing but also on her graduation from the Luise-Bronner-Realschule in Heilbronn and then do her Abitur. She wants to remain loyal to Thai boxing.
Simone has already felt that her fists can fly properly. During a fight, her opponent even broke her nose after being hit several times. For the junior world champion “it’s not that wild”: “That was just before the first lockdown. Then there were no fights anyway and everything could heal well. ”
